The proposed Kangaroo Bay Boulevard Precinct by Hunter Developments is a new mixed-use residential development. It is located along Kangaroo Bay Drive opposite the recently completed Kangaroo Bay Parklands.
The new precinct will incorporate local shops, cafés, public and private carparking and a range of different residential apartment offerings. The concept focuses heavily on landscape as an extension of the Kangaroo Bay parklands into the site. The configuration of the apartment massing is split and carved to allow views and pedestrian walkways from Cambridge Road through the site to Kangaroo Bay Drive and the waterfront.
This development creates a unique opportunity to implement important urban planning strategies, provide much needed housing stock that is of a high quality and on an impressive site with wonderful views. The site, due to local amenity within walking distance, and strong connectivity via existing bus and future ferry connections to the Hobart CBD makes it an ideal candidate to accommodate a development of this scale.
The final development proposal will be selected once we are able to confirm that the design is able to achieve a high level of architectural design quality, is feasible from a technical / engineering perspective, will satisfy the requirements of the planning scheme and is financially viable.
We have adopted an integrated building and landscape design approach consistent with the Hotel and Hospitality School on the wharf site to create a new, coherent and vibrant urban waterfront precinct at Kangaroo Bay.
